Andrew Millinchip

A native of the West Midlands, Andrew was educated at Kind Edward's School, Birmingham, where he studied organ with Roy Massey and J0hn Pryer, before winning an organ scholarship to Keble College, Oxford, where he gained a degree in Music. After a post graduate year at Jesus College Cambridge, Andrew taught for three years in London before moving to Cheshire in 1983 as Director of Music at The Grange School, Hartford.
There he created a large music department with a staff of 20 visiting instrumental teachers and oversaw the move to a purpose-built performing arts and theatre complex in 2005.

Andrew has always been involved in choral music, singing with Birmingham Cathedral Choir and the Oxford Schola Cantorum, and while at The Grange he founded its award-winning school choir, Cantores Roborienses, which performed countless concerts and cathedral services in Cheshire and beyond and undertook an annual European tour.
He was also the musical director for the school's many acclaimed musical theatre productions including West Side Story and Les Miserables. 

Andrew retired from The Grange in 2017 but continues to work as a piano and organ teacher, He has been Organist and Choirmaster at St Mary's Whitegate since 2009. He is married to Jane and has two sons and two granddaughters. as well as a mad dog and two dysfunctional cats. In his spare time he enjoys baking, model railways and learning languages.
